Seasoned experts in business strategy, medicine and the pharmaceutical industry form the BIOCOZ GLOBAL executive leadership team. Our research and development efforts are led by prominent medical doctors and scientists from Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Institutes of Technology, Korea University and Yonsei Severance Hospital.
  • Young Joon Kim Chairman, Founder
    Mr. Kim founded BIOCOZ GLOBAL and has served as CEO since the inception in 2006 until the end of 2018. He led the initial discovery and development efforts for our proprietary technology, SPM™. With an ambition to provide life-altering treatments to suffering patients with chronic skin diseases, he has initiated skin cell activator research at the Singapore National University Hospital with a team of stem cell and biotechnology scientists. Prior to BIOCOZ GLOBAL, Mr. Kim served as CEO at D2K and KS Marketing.
  • Seung Jae Lee Ph.D. CEO BIOCOZ GLOBAL Korea Corp.
    Dr. Lee is a seasoned executive with 30 years of experience in the finance sector with a proven track record of building and managing financial and corporate strategy in both public and private organizations.
    He has served as CEO of BIOCOZ GLOBAL Korea Corp. since Jan 2019. Prior to BIOCOZ GLOBAL Korea Corp., Dr. Lee has served as Executive Vice President at Samsung F&M Insurance. Prior to entering the private sector, Dr. Lee was at the Ministry of Finance, Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
  • Dr. Martin C. Mihm Jr. Head of Medical Advisory Board
    Dr. Martin C. Mihm Jr., M.D. is the Director of Melanoma Program at the Department of Dermatology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Associate Director at the Center for Melanoma Oncology, Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, and Professor of Pathology and Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mihm served for 20 years as co-director of the Melanoma Pathology Program, World Health Organization and formed the dermatopathology fellowship program at Massachusetts General/Harvard Medical School, one of the first training programs in the specialty, which was adopted by Harvard, securing dermatopathology’s place in medicine. Dr. Lee is a member of BG’s medical advisory board since 2016.
  • Dr. Ju Hee Lee Member of Medical Advisory Board
    Dr. Ju Hee Lee, M.D., Ph.D. is the Professor at the Department of Dermatology, Severance Hospital, Professor and Head of the Department of Dermatology and Head of Cutaneous Biology Research Institute at Yonsei University College of Medicine, and the Head of Scar Laser and Plastic Surgery Center, Yonsei Cancer Hospital. Dr. Lee also serves as the Managing Director at The Korean Society for Psoriasis and at the International Scar Society Board. Dr. Lee is a renowned expert in dermatology, skin aging, scarring, and runs an active basic and clinical research program authoring more than 170 scientific publications. Dr. Lee is a member of BG’s medical advisory board since 2018.
  • Dr. Byung Gun Kim Member of Medical Advisory Board
    Dr. Byung Gun Kim, M.D. is the founder of BK Plastic Surgery and BK Medical Group Aesthetic Clinic Singapore and a key opinion leader in the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Kim has received his medical doctorate from Seoul National University. Dr. Kim brings more than 25 years of experience as a plastic surgeon to BG’s medical advisory board.
  • Anthony J. Sinskey Ph.D. Head of Scientific Advisory Board
    Dr. Sinskey has been serving on the board since 2015. He is a professor of Microbiology and Engineering Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also holds positions as co-director of the Malaysia-MIT Biotechnology Partnership Program and as the Faculty Director of the MIT Center for Biomedical Innovation.
    Dr. Sinskey is well known in the biopharmaceutical industry and has been a scientific co-founder of several biotechnology companies, including Genzyme Corporation, Natural Pharmaceuticals, Metabolix, and Merrimack Pharmaceuticals. He received his Sc.D. in Microbiology and Food Science from the MIT.
  • Chanwha Kim Ph.D. Member of Science Advisory Board
    Dr. Kim has been serving on the board since 2011.
    He brings almost thirty years of experience in biotechnology to BIOCOZ GLOBAL.
    Dr. Kim has been a professor of biotechnology since 1995, and a chief technology officer of the Institute of Life Science and Biotechnology at Korea University since 2005. Prior to his career at the university, Dr. Kim was Director at XGen Corp, Principal Research Engineer at 3M Co., Technical Advisor at Genzyme Corp. and Senior Researcher at ATC Diagnostics Inc. Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in biotechnology from the MIT.
  • Kevin L. Ohashi Ph.D. Member of Science Advisory Board
    Dr. Ohashi joined the board in 2015. He is a seasoned life science entrepreneur and venture capitalist. His experience spans a large segment of healthcare, including sports medicine, device manufacturing and regenerative medicine.
    He is the founder of Pond Capital, LLC., Cayenne Medical, nContact, and Tauten Sports. He also serves directing roles at MicroVascular Tissues, Tauten, and OC 10. Dr. Ohashi holds a Ph.D. Minor in Materials Science Engineering and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford.
  • Hiroshige Hayashi, Ph.D.
    Dr. Hiroshige Hayashi is currently Visiting Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. Dr. Hayashi served as Professor at Doshisha University Graduate School of Business (2004-2011), Founder and Co-Managing Director at Korea-Japan Marketing Forum (1998-2008), CEO Asia at Ipsos Novaction (1978-2002), Product and Marketing Manager at Pfizer (1972-1976), and Consumer Product Marketing Director at Johnson & Johnson (1976-1978). Dr. Hiroshige Hayashi brings more than 50 years of marketing experience to advise BG.
